Connect & Sustain is a public design project that reimagines the everyday experience of waiting at a bus stop. Recognizing that most people use public transportation at least once a day, the project begins with a detailed analysis of the current issues affecting high-traffic transit areas. Common problems such as excessive noise, fine dust exposure, limited seating, and lack of weather protection significantly impact commuter comfort and public health. This project identifies three key challenges: noise pollution, environmental degradation, and practical usability. It responds with integrated design solutions that enhance both the function and atmosphere of bus stops. From implementing sound-buffering materials to incorporating green elements that purify the air, Connect & Sustain seeks to make these small but essential urban spaces more sustainable and inclusive. The design also considers accessibility, comfort, and maintenance, ensuring the final structure serves a wide range of users efficiently and respectfully. By merging environmental responsibility with social care, Connect & Sustain moves beyond the idea of a bus stop as a mere waiting zone. Instead, it transforms it into a connective point that supports human interaction, urban wellbeing, and ecological mindfulness.
