Recording moments to remember the past is essential to human life, yet most memories are captured visually, excluding people with visual impairments from fully participating in this culture. Many rely on audio recordings as an alternative, but traditional recorders organize files as linear date lists. To find a specific memory, users must scroll through and listen to each file one by one, which is slow and inefficient. Ponto transforms these digital lists into a tactile calendar interface leveraging the sense users depend on most: touch. It enables recording, recalling, and sharing memories through a tactile language—an intuitive sensory system that goes beyond sight. Ponto uses a tactile calendar grid-based dot pad, with 12 dots representing months on the top row and 36 slots below for daily recordings. Users navigate memories using three modes—Today, Monthly, and Latest—and a Favorites button. Each recording is a tactile point. Users explore these points using their sense of touch, locating files based on dates to recall memories. Ponto improves quality of life by fostering emotional connection and reducing exclusion. It frees users from sight-centered norms, creating an equal and meaningful way to manage personal memories and combat social isolation.
