Cleaf is a wearable camera-display device designed to facilitate natural communication for the deaf and hard of hearing. Unlike conventional methods such as lip-reading or writing, Cleaf enables real-time interaction through sign languageāthe most natural and preferred language among deaf users. The detachable clip-on camera translates sign language into speech, while spoken words are transcribed instantly on the display. It also detects public alerts and custom keywords, providing tactile and visual notifications to keep users informed. Designed for daily use, Cleaf can be worn as a keyring or watch, promoting independence and reducing social isolation.
