Parkinson’s disease, a degenerative neurological disorder, gradually restricts physical movement due to the decrease in dopamine secretion. These symptoms become more prominent in older age, where daily life often becomes repetitive and monotonous, accompanied by a lack of sensory stimulation and increasing social isolation. To prevent Parkinson’s disease, recent studies recommend various forms of physical activity and dopamine-stimulating experiences. In particular, music programs operated in various communities have been shown to provide emotional stability and vitality to participants. Studies have confirmed that even patients in their 50s and 60s with Parkinson’s disease actively engage in such activities. Clinically, rhythmic movements of the hands and arms, as well as repetitive fine motor motions using the fingers, have been proven effective in alleviating the motor symptoms of Parkinson’s. These hand-based activities are more than simple physical motions—they promote dopamine release and simultaneously stimulate the senses. Based on these insights, Orbis is proposed as a design solution that supports Parkinson’s patients by encouraging specific motions and interactions. It aims to aid in the prevention of the disease by engaging the user in purposeful movement and sensory stimulation.
