NERE is a smart bathroom care device that solves the discomfort of reusing damp towels and addresses bacterial growth. Many people tend to reuse towels because they feel it’s wasteful to wash them after just one use, even though this habit leads to hygiene problems. NERE combines UV-C sterilization, warm air drying, and diffuser functions to make towel reuse hygienic and pleasant. Designed with a slim form that wraps the entire towel, it ensures usability without adding visual bulk. The upper cover features a restrained glossy finish to match clean bathroom aesthetics, while the main body uses a matte black finish for a modern contrast. Inspired by the “pocket-style” structure of portable clothing care devices, NERE enables intuitive use without interfering with user motion. By collecting towel usage data, the system can expand into personalized solutions like diffuser capsules or dedicated towels in the future. NERE addresses the bathroom—a space closely tied to our health—yet often overlooked in IoT advancement. It redefines towel hygiene management as a new paradigm in smart living, enhancing bathroom experiences through thoughtful design and data-driven care.
