ONDY is a desk companion robot designed to improve digital wellness by helping users build healthier posture habits. As screen time increases in modern life, poor posture has become a hidden threat, often going unnoticed for hours. ONDY addresses this issue through a unique combination of visual feedback and emotional interaction. Using a built-in camera and deep learning-based posture detection, ONDY mirrors the user’s posture when slouching is detected. This visual reflection is intended to raise awareness—similar to the moment of catching yourself in a mirror with poor posture. It encourages users to recognize and adjust their posture without external enforcement. In addition to posture mirroring, ONDY responds with emotional cues through facial expressions—smiling when posture improves or showing angry face when slouching continues. These subtle, human-like reactions create a sense of connection and reinforce consistent behavior over time. By combining intelligent recognition, visual feedback, and emotional response, ONDY transforms posture correction from a task into a gentle, supportive part of everyday life. It promotes a more mindful relationship with technology and encourages sustainable routines for physical well-being in an increasingly sedentary digital lifestyle.
