Inspired by the environmental impact of traditional furniture manufacturing, the project innovatively transforms agricultural by-products, especially coconut shells, into sustainable and aesthetically pleasing furniture. Our goal is to address the depletion of forest resources and the environmental shortcomings of traditional alternative materials such as high-carbon plastics or non-biodegradable metals. Recognize that coconut shells are a naturally renewable and underutilized resource, and that their fibrous structure also has the potential to resist moisture. Our solution, SafeRoll, carefully combines coconut shells with modern epoxy technology to create a unique table top that accentuates natural textures. The legs are made from walnut wood and are inspired by the organic form of a quarter coconut shell. Complementing this, the chair seats are handmade and woven from grass and coir. The project advocates sustainability and circularity, giving new life to waste that would otherwise be agricultural waste. The resulting furniture pieces are suitable for modern homes and cafes, striking the best balance between functionality, unique aesthetic values and profound environmental responsibility.
