Symphony of Borneo is a cultural beacon in Indonesia, dedicated to preserving and revitalizing art and cultural heritage through immersive experiences. Designed for youth aged 15-21 and the general public, this Youth Performance Art and Cultural Centre blends traditional wisdom with modern innovation. At its core, the center serves as a cultural edutainment hub, fostering awareness and appreciation of Indonesia’s rich heritage. Through a mix of interactive technologies and hands-on experiences, it engages tech-savvy youth while inviting all ages to explore and learn. Inspired by the fluidity of traditional Indonesian dance, the architecture itself embodies movement, guiding visitors seamlessly through a journey of performance and discovery. The palette is dominated by terracotta, symbolizing Earth’s warmth and connecting deeply with Indonesia’s cultural roots, while accents of grey and white create a harmonious balance of tradition and modernity. Programmatically, the center promotes skill development, community collaboration, and sustainable practices like urban farming, enriching artistic abilities and nurturing environmental responsibility. Through its dynamic and interactive spaces, Symphony of Borneo aims to be a catalyst for cultural preservation and youth empowerment, bridging the gap between heritage and the future.
