bom was designed by focusing on the characteristic of deaf people, which is that they are good at observing rather than not being able to hear. It utilizes sign language, the first language of deaf people, to become their own daily assistant. It consists of a bottom with a camera and a translucent display. The camera is for tracking the movements of deaf people, and the display is for conveying information to them through sign language. It has the feature that the display and main body are separated, allowing the display direction to be freely changed depending on the content. Through this design, I wanted to convey the idea that design should be willing to reach out to people and environments that are far from new technologies. In a society where new technologies are rapidly developing, it is inevitable that a digitally marginalized class will arise who have difficulty adapting. However, because of this, designers go beyond the existing process of putting technology into a certain form. And they should be able to consider the people and environments that will experience the new society, as well as the interactions between them.
