The UEFA Europa League is the second most important club competition in European soccer, and the Final was set in Dublin, Ireland. The identity for this special event had to be flexible and versatile in its application, as it would be used by numerous organisations across a range of media applications – in the stadium, on all event materials, around the host city, in print, billboards, on television, the internet and social media. It had to be used by sponsors, commercial partners and broadcasters of the UEFA Europa League, so the concept needed to be simple and engaging, with extensive support materials including brand toolkits. The creative concept behind this corporate identity took inspiration from popular Celtic and Irish arts, the rolling countryside of Ireland, and the shape of the city’s newly built Stadium, with its distinctive curved roof. The brand identity was seen everywhere around Dublin, on street posters and banners, at train stations and on all forms of transportation. Outside and inside the stadium various versions of it were seen on entrances, welcome desks, corporate hospitality areas, reception areas, press interview rooms, signage, and on the pitch. As a brand identity for the event it created a consistent and comprehensive visual look.
