The Tesla Powerwall is a rechargeable battery that stores solar energy during the day so that you can use it at night. Powerwall also provides emergency backup for homes and businesses when grid power is not available by enabling solar panels to continue to provide energy seamlessly during an outage. Powerwall can offer financial savings by charging during low rate periods when demand for electricity is lower, and providing flexibility when electricity demand is higher and rates are more expensive. With appropriate amounts of solar paired with Powerwall(s), customers can go completely off-grid. Powerwall 2 stores 14 kWh of energy; twice the energy at a lower cost per kWh in roughly the same dimensions as the original Powerwall and provides greater flexibility by giving customers the option to mount it on the wall or on the ground, indoors or outdoors. A built-in inverter allows for better integration and delivers a more compact design with greater overall aesthetics. The new design allows for flexible floor-mounted or wall-mounted installation. Powerwall 2 is completely automated and requires no maintenance. It works with the Tesla app to let customers monitor and control the energy in their home in real-time.
