The Dell Enhanced Packaging design was created to streamline and elevate the customer experience across commercial mobile products. The design provides a curated unboxing experience that addresses user needs, while meeting Dell’s 2030 Moonshot sustainability goals 8 years early! Key goals for this workstream were to improve the unboxing experience for customers while minimizing waste and ensuring recyclability. The packaging solution is focused on presenting the product first, providing a highpoint for the customer during the out of box activity. The design delivers an overall brand-consistent experience across our Dell laptops. There are multiple touchpoints on the Enhanced Packaging for Dell to connect with the user and show clear progression through the journey. When they open the box, they will see: “This packaging is made from 100% recycled or renewable materials.” They then use a simple paper pull tape to gain quick access to the device where they are greeted by the message “Welcome to Dell. Let’s do great things together.”
