As a dedicated hockey player, I've experienced the shared frustrations of inadequate gear bags on the market. Current options, while lightweight and versatile for carrying, often fall short in durability during international travel, damaging both the bag and valuable equipment. Moreover, the constant need to air out wet gear to prevent odors makes the packing and unpacking process tedious. I conceptualized a bag that redefines durability and functionality to tackle these issues. Interviews with fellow players and coaches informed the design, identifying the pros and cons of current gear bags. This collaborative approach led to an innovative design that facilitates superior drying through a vertically opening bag. Players can hang their wet gear on an integrated, collapsible hanger, simplifying the drying process during downtime between matches or at the hotel. While this bag comes at a higher price point than conventional options, it's a deliberate investment in longevity. Engineered to protect expensive equipment from the wear and tear of frequent travel, it eliminates the need for constant replacements or repairs. The primary audience for this product is the semi-professional athlete competing internationally, seeking a reliable, protective storage solution for their gear.
