Beyond Sight

Winner - Platinum

Project ‘beyond sight’ started from hypothesis that blind people do not have a perfectly safe and comfortable space. Even though they spend most of their time at home, most products are designed without considering disability. We selected three products that visually impaired people feel uncomfortable, and then redesigned them so that they can use them intuitively without relying on their vision. We redesigned three products, speaker, remote controller, and timer. The speaker is redesigned that blind people can control volume easily by simply moving the ball part up and down. Remote controller is redesigned that blind people can change channel and adjust volume by rolling and turning the morphologically separated channel and volume control parts. Timer is redesigned that provides configurable time presets in Braille. With this project, we hope their lives could be a little more comfortable.
