With the development of XR contents, AR is expected to be the new moblie UI in the future. Yet, there are no pre-set standards of how we should interact with them. We discovered the inaccuracies in AR control methods such as voice commands and hand gestures. We’ve also foreseen that hand gestures and game type controllers are impractical for public interactions and disrupt the natural context of daily life flow. It would be akward to wave your hands vigorously in public or pull out a game-type controller in mid conversation with someone, just to check a simple notice on your AR screen. We figured an accurate, errorproof way of controlling AR contents is necessary. Our aim is to predict user scenarios of interacting AR content and derive a suitable solution. We assumed that AR UI would include both content inherited from traditional smartphone(2D) and AR/VR content(3D). In daily context, user must need to manipulate constantly, therefore a wearable form factor is practical. With a trackpad for 2D and a head joystick for 3D, ADD can offer precise control of cross dimensional AR content and enable casual daily usage.
