HP´s sustainable fiber-based packaging solution provides a plastic-free alternative to single-use plastic bottles and can hold a wide variety of liquid products. With HP´s 3D printing-enabled Molded Fiber Advanced Tooling Solution, our products are designed to bring customizable, fiber-based products without intending to emulate a plastic finishing. Based on a patented technology, this design has an outer casting, made from recycled newspapers and plastic-free, an inner liner with an inner barrier made from plastic-free materials as well, and a label made from paper. Also, this design enables debossing features, by enhancing a texture of the paper and imprint the design onto the surface. This plastic-free design and its unique and patented plastic-free barrier are conceptually conceived and built to be robust and safe, with a waterproof barrier designed for exposure to moisture, light, oxygen. The design needed to be functional to address the challenge of offering both an inner barrier 100% plastic- free, and a molded fiber tooling able to produce a scalable complete bottle made of fibers, that delivers a natural look and feel and reveals by itself that is made of sustainable sources of material, without any post processing and no intending to emulate plastic finishing.
