Dell’s Premium Packaging design provides a curated unboxing experience among the premium offerings for customers while minimizing waste, simplifying packaging components and ensuring recyclability. The packaging solution is focused on presenting the product first, providing a highpoint in the unboxing process. Multiple touchpoints were considered throughout the unboxing activity for the Dell brand to connect with customers. When a customer goes to open the box, they will see: “This packaging is made from 100% recycled or renewable materials.” They can then use a simple paper pull tape to gain quick access to the device where they are greeted by the message: “Welcome to Dell. Let’s do great things together.” Sustainability is a focus for consumers and our organization. Materials chosen for the over-pack and system box are fiber-based, made from recycled paper, FSC certified or equivalent corrugate, bamboo, and sugarcane bagasse. The resealable system box, created from paper pulp, makes it easy for the consumer to open and access the product and reuse it to store cables, accessories, and the device. Furthermore, by transitioning most of the packaging to fiber-based materials, it is very easy for the customer to separate each package components for recycling.
